My Husband Hates Twilight and I know I am not alone!

After going out for dinner with friends, my husband and I invited them to come and hang out at our place.  When we got home the guys put on Street Fighter 4 and started playing.  The women of course gathered around the dining table and we all were discussing Twilight. And you all know how we get when we talk about Edward, Emmett, Jasper and Carlisle!  We started getting loud, giggling, laughing, etc.  My husband looks at me and asks, "What are you guys talking about?" I answered with a smile and he immediately knew and rolled his eyes!  Of course immediately the guys started saying things like, "Fuck Edward and Twilight Sucks".  I mean its not our fault after reading this book we've noticed things about our significant others that we don't like!  I mean they can't sparkle, read our minds, or look like  super models! LoL
In my opinion, I think that since the majority of us who read the book feel the same way about our boyfriends or husbands.  We start to look at them and think,  "Man why can't you love me like that!" Could it be true that there is something wrong with our men?  Or maybe not something wrong, but maybe there is something missing that we are all longing for in the relationship.  I really think that if more guys read the series they would understand exactly why we love Edward Cullen so darn much!

Drew Barrymore may direct Eclipse?

So I was reading E! online and they said according to Entertainment Weekly Drew Barrymore may direct Eclipse.  I wonder how plausible this is.  I know most of you are thinking, "Drew Barrymore directs?" and yes she does.  Her directing debut will be a move called Whip It which stars Juno's Ellen Page. I think this will be interesting.  I wonder if she's read the books and is into the whole Twilight Saga.  I'm really hoping she is.  Otherwise she'll be disappointing a lot of Twilight Fan's if Eclipse doesn't stand up to Twilight or New Moon.

Summit Entertainment New Moon Contest

Okay so Summit Entertainment is having a contest.  The winner will get to be on the set of New Moon and have a chance to appear in the movie!!  All you have to do is record a 1 minute video of why you deserve to win and submit it by March 20th.  For the video requirements, judging criteria and more information on the contest log onto www.twilighthemovie.com. Well I really need to start thinking of how to make my video original.  Yes my 28 year old butt is going to try to enter! LoL Good luck to everyone entering!
Can't wait to watch the movie! I know a few elementary and Jr High students who's parents are letting them skip school in order to watch this movie!  Another great thing is 7 months after this comes out Eclipse will be in movie theaters!!  Eclipse is coming out the day before my husband's  birthday, June 30,2010.  I hope he doesn't mind spending it on a double date with Edward and Bella! LoL

At the Twilight Convention they featured these parodies. The First two is by Juicebox, and the last is The Hillywood Show.

Creation Entertainment's Salute to Twilight

Photos from Salute to Twilight in San Francisco.  From top Left is Kellan Lutz and I.  Next is, Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone with Jenn and I.  Next photo is  courtesy of Shirley.  It's Peter Facinelli and Billy Burke Q&A.  Photo is a charm bracelet made to replicate the one that Jacob gave Bella, complete with the wolf charm and the heart charm from Edward. (Made by Runs With Vampires)

On the weekend of February 20th (2009)  Creation Entertainment held a Twilight Convention here in San Francisco at the Westin on Market Street.  I had  bought a Weekend Preferred Pass for about $250.00.  It was well worth it.  Passes included entrance for all 3 days, preferred seating, and non rushed autographs with the actors.  FYI if you plan to purchase an autograph ticket or if your package comes with autographs, make sure you bring something for them to sign, otherwise you will have to spend $5 on a photo for them to sign! Photographs were purchased separately at $40 per photo.  For photos with both Ashley Green and Jackson Rathbone it cost $70 a photo.
Unfortunately I was unable to go on Friday so I missed Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen) and Billy Burke (Charlie Swan).   I'm really sad and almost depressed that I missed the opportunity to meet them!
Saturday started with a Q&A with Michael Welch who plays Mike Newton in the movie.  He was really funny, actually a lot better looking in person than on screen.  He also did the booty shaking dance that he did in the movie which was really funny.  Then Kellan Lutz came on and let me tell you, Emmett is now my #2 next to Edward!  He was really funny! He even did the best impersonation of Rob Pattinson running.  He also revealed the reason why Rob had flipped him the bird when they ran into each other during the baseball scene.  He said he "called him another word for cat".   LoL  When it came time to take the photo, I was really nervous but he was really nice and sweet.  As you can see he didn't have problems with getting close to his fans, he even carried a few girls in their photos.  While in line, someone working the convention mentioned that he wasn't feeling very well, but he looks far from sick in the photo!
Sunday started of with Q&A with Rachelle Lefevre.  She said that she told Rob that he better work out because she is gonna put up a good fight in Eclipse. LoL  This information was reported to me by my friends.  I didn't arrive until it was time to meet Ashley and Jackson. According to them I missed another great Q&A, they said that it actually made them like her character a little more, considering she was a bad vampire.  Q&A with Ashley and Jackson was really funny too.  Again someone asked about Rob's running and Jackson attempted to imitate it.  He said  to just picture the most awkward run ever.  It seemed that Ashley didn't really have much to say during the Q&A being that most of the questions were for Jackson.  They both were really friendly during the photos and autograph signing.  I actually chatted with Jackson for a second and asked him if he was tired, he replied with a smile and said "No not really especially with all the energy surrounding me!"  He was very very cute!  Making Jasper my # 3 after Emmett! LoL
The convention also had a few vendors.  They were all great.  Runs With Vampires, as I mentioned above makes the Bella charm bracelet.  They had plenty of different bracelets to choose from.  Prices varied from $35 to $145.  I opted to buy the $35 dollar one of course.  The difference between the bracelets were the wolf charms.  The cheaper ones have a wolf carved from gemstone but the more expensive ones are carved from wood and are harder to find.  They even asked me to choose what size heart I wanted.  I got the medium one.  The smaller sized heart is the actual size of the one described in the book.  You can actually check out the bracelets online at runswithvampires.com.
Another great vendor was promoting a Twilight Cruise to Alaska.  The cruise sails roundtrip from Seattle to Glacier Bay, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan and & Victoria, B.C. on a ship called the Oosterdam. Prices range from $1049 to 3299 per person.  Basically it will be a Convention at sea.  Complete with Q&A sessions, autograph sessions, and much more.  They were also selling a 3 day pre-cruise package to Seattle and Forks.  For more information you can check out www.twilightfancruises.com.  This cruise is set to sail on August 8, 2010 so there should be plenty of time for you to save up!
Another local vendor that caught my attention was The Vampire Tour of San Francisco.  It's a 2 hour tour, which costs $20 and $15 for students, seniors, and groups of 10 or more.  For more info you can log on to www.sfvampiretour.com.  To tell you the truth I was kind of turned off from this idea.  I kept thinking of the part in New Moon when the tour guide Heidi led the tourists to the room in the castle for the Volturi to feed on.
I had a very good time.  I was happy to have my Twilight Illustrated Movie Companion signed by a few of the Actors.  I ended up spending quite a bit more money than I hoped but the experience was indeed priceless.  I can't wait until next year!  Be ready February 12-14, 2010 Gold passes are already on sale for this event for $319.  I think I'll wait until the preferred weekend passes are on sale.  I'll keep you posted!

Twilight DVD Release

So I'm sure you  are all excited about the release of the DVD on March 21, 2009.  To celebrate, my Bookclub will be having a Twilight Party.   I know what you're thinking, "Book Club?"  It happened on accident.  We all read the books and whenever we're together all we do is talk about it.  So people started saying we were having "book club meetings".  Might as well make it official right! LoL  I think this party will be the start of many now that New Moon is in production and Eclipse will start right after.  Very excited about it! And I can't wait!

I know a few of us have heard rumors that in the bonus features there will be commentary by Rob Pattinson.  I think it sucks that he doesn't really like the Twilight Series or all the attention he gets but maybe in a way he's a little like Edward because he likes to stay low key.   I think it's going to be interesting.  I just want to hear his American accent in the movie, I think its way more sexier than his British accent!

First Taste

It all started last September as I was sitting at home logged on to Facebook, I noticed a few people posting up that they couldn't put a certain book down.  I would see it everywhere, "so and so can't seem to stop reading Twilight"   I heard the Title over and over again.  I really didn't give it much thought. That is until I actually saw the preview for the movie.  I saw Rob Pattinson save Kristen Stewart from that car accident and after watching that scene, I bought the book.  Little did I know that many sleepless nights were ahead of me.  Thats right, I bought the book and read it nonstop for 24 hours straight.  This occurred for 5 days straight.  Next thing I new I finished the entire Saga in less than a weeks time!
Quotes like, "You are my life. You're the only thing that would hurt me to lose" began to mess with my head and affect my life.  I started looking at my husband disgusted, thinking about why he couldn't be like Edward Cullen.  I'm ashamed to admit that this went on for months and I don't even think this fantasy about this fictional character has subsided.  This fantasy world seems too real its crazy.  Stephenie Meyer has written these books so that the reader itself can actually feel what the character in the book is feeling!  Its unbelievable.  When Bella Swan fell in love with Edward Cullen, I felt it and I fell in love to!
I felt that I needed to actually express this and get it out of my system by blogging my thoughts so that one day I can get over this crazy addiction.  I dedicate this blog to everyone out there who feel the same way.  Twilight fans who have tell themselves day to day, it is only a book! That Edward Cullen isn't real.   My theory is, if Edward Cullen is the perfect man, and he is a Vampire.  A vampire is a mythical creature, as far as we know they do not exist.  Therefore it means the perfect man does not exist.
