Creation Entertainment's Salute to Twilight

Photos from Salute to Twilight in San Francisco.  From top Left is Kellan Lutz and I.  Next is, Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone with Jenn and I.  Next photo is  courtesy of Shirley.  It's Peter Facinelli and Billy Burke Q&A.  Photo is a charm bracelet made to replicate the one that Jacob gave Bella, complete with the wolf charm and the heart charm from Edward. (Made by Runs With Vampires)

On the weekend of February 20th (2009)  Creation Entertainment held a Twilight Convention here in San Francisco at the Westin on Market Street.  I had  bought a Weekend Preferred Pass for about $250.00.  It was well worth it.  Passes included entrance for all 3 days, preferred seating, and non rushed autographs with the actors.  FYI if you plan to purchase an autograph ticket or if your package comes with autographs, make sure you bring something for them to sign, otherwise you will have to spend $5 on a photo for them to sign! Photographs were purchased separately at $40 per photo.  For photos with both Ashley Green and Jackson Rathbone it cost $70 a photo.
Unfortunately I was unable to go on Friday so I missed Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen) and Billy Burke (Charlie Swan).   I'm really sad and almost depressed that I missed the opportunity to meet them!
Saturday started with a Q&A with Michael Welch who plays Mike Newton in the movie.  He was really funny, actually a lot better looking in person than on screen.  He also did the booty shaking dance that he did in the movie which was really funny.  Then Kellan Lutz came on and let me tell you, Emmett is now my #2 next to Edward!  He was really funny! He even did the best impersonation of Rob Pattinson running.  He also revealed the reason why Rob had flipped him the bird when they ran into each other during the baseball scene.  He said he "called him another word for cat".   LoL  When it came time to take the photo, I was really nervous but he was really nice and sweet.  As you can see he didn't have problems with getting close to his fans, he even carried a few girls in their photos.  While in line, someone working the convention mentioned that he wasn't feeling very well, but he looks far from sick in the photo!
Sunday started of with Q&A with Rachelle Lefevre.  She said that she told Rob that he better work out because she is gonna put up a good fight in Eclipse. LoL  This information was reported to me by my friends.  I didn't arrive until it was time to meet Ashley and Jackson. According to them I missed another great Q&A, they said that it actually made them like her character a little more, considering she was a bad vampire.  Q&A with Ashley and Jackson was really funny too.  Again someone asked about Rob's running and Jackson attempted to imitate it.  He said  to just picture the most awkward run ever.  It seemed that Ashley didn't really have much to say during the Q&A being that most of the questions were for Jackson.  They both were really friendly during the photos and autograph signing.  I actually chatted with Jackson for a second and asked him if he was tired, he replied with a smile and said "No not really especially with all the energy surrounding me!"  He was very very cute!  Making Jasper my # 3 after Emmett! LoL
The convention also had a few vendors.  They were all great.  Runs With Vampires, as I mentioned above makes the Bella charm bracelet.  They had plenty of different bracelets to choose from.  Prices varied from $35 to $145.  I opted to buy the $35 dollar one of course.  The difference between the bracelets were the wolf charms.  The cheaper ones have a wolf carved from gemstone but the more expensive ones are carved from wood and are harder to find.  They even asked me to choose what size heart I wanted.  I got the medium one.  The smaller sized heart is the actual size of the one described in the book.  You can actually check out the bracelets online at runswithvampires.com.
Another great vendor was promoting a Twilight Cruise to Alaska.  The cruise sails roundtrip from Seattle to Glacier Bay, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan and & Victoria, B.C. on a ship called the Oosterdam. Prices range from $1049 to 3299 per person.  Basically it will be a Convention at sea.  Complete with Q&A sessions, autograph sessions, and much more.  They were also selling a 3 day pre-cruise package to Seattle and Forks.  For more information you can check out www.twilightfancruises.com.  This cruise is set to sail on August 8, 2010 so there should be plenty of time for you to save up!
Another local vendor that caught my attention was The Vampire Tour of San Francisco.  It's a 2 hour tour, which costs $20 and $15 for students, seniors, and groups of 10 or more.  For more info you can log on to www.sfvampiretour.com.  To tell you the truth I was kind of turned off from this idea.  I kept thinking of the part in New Moon when the tour guide Heidi led the tourists to the room in the castle for the Volturi to feed on.
I had a very good time.  I was happy to have my Twilight Illustrated Movie Companion signed by a few of the Actors.  I ended up spending quite a bit more money than I hoped but the experience was indeed priceless.  I can't wait until next year!  Be ready February 12-14, 2010 Gold passes are already on sale for this event for $319.  I think I'll wait until the preferred weekend passes are on sale.  I'll keep you posted!
